I don’t like to write sentimental posts, because I don’t like to seem “weak” or “human” haha, but I didn’t win best in show today. And I had prepared for winning/non-winning for four years and surprisingly not winning didn’t effect me as much as I had thought it would.
What did effect me was the amazing feedback from my peers, the kind words from my professors like, “you’ll go far and get what you want, I’m not worried about your future” and “you’re toxic, in a good way, people want to be around you and know what you’re doing” and “we have high expectations about you, we can’t wait to brag about you and that you came from our design program” and of course my family who all had no idea what my career entails, finally understanding and appreciating my hard work.
Today was an amazing day that I have worked four years for. I’m finally done and ready to move on to the next chapter in my life.
Thanks for everyone who has been with me through the most challenging two years of my life. “I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people” - Vincent Van Gogh, he knows his shit, thank you loved ones.
